Personally, I never understood the appeal of running out to face the crowds with a gut full of turkey and stuffing but if you love finding a good deal shopping on Thanksgiving night can be down right exhilarating.

To each their own. I promise to stay out of your way by firmly sitting my butt on the couch to watch football and fight off a food coma! While you're laying out your plan of attack for Thanksgiving evening, cross these stores off your list.  According to BestBlackFriday.com, they've already confirmed as being CLOSED on Thanksgiving Day.

  • Ace Hardware
  • Burlington Coat Factory
  • Costco
  • Guitar Center
  • Hobby Lobby
  • TJ Maxx & HomeGoods
  • Lowe's
  • Marshalls
  • Office Depot
  • OfficeMax
  • Petco
  • REI (also closed on Black Friday)
  • Sierra Trading Post

During late summer, the website surveyed consumers to take the pulse of whether or not most people wanted stores to be open for Thanksgiving Day shopping. According to their results, 72% of consumers think retail stores should remained closed, 14% are like me who don't mind if they're open but won't be shopping that evening and 14% say they should be open because they will be shopping that night.
