It seems like every month, we hear about another retailer closing their doors as the "changing retail scene."  Here in Boise, we break the mold, as Boise Towne Square is succeeding.

Stores like Macy's, J.C. Penny, Sears, and Kohl's have had to change their business plan or close locations as online retail has changed the retail game.  Experts say that Boise has been able to avoid the trend other cities have struggled with

Those stores listed above and Abercrombie & Fitch, Payless Shoe Source, and others have kept at least one Boise location open even as they announced significant closures across the country.  One example is Macy's shutting down their Nampa store.

Boise Towne Square has defied odds too, as the mall has maintained its anchor stores and customer base, even as The Village At Meridian and new shopping options have come to the area.

The Treasure Valley has been classified as a third-tier shopping region, but experts say thanks to our population growth and viability of stores, that may soon be upgraded.
