God bless the broken road that lead them...straight to Boise?

Rascal Flatts' remake of "Life is a Highway" is one of our favorite songs to play during your morning commute into the office and the mad dash home for dinner and we bet it'll make the soundtrack playing in the new restaurant planned for Downtown Boise.

According to our friend Don at BoiseDev, the Grammy winning country music superstars have permits submitted to open a southern themed "Rascal Flatts Restaurant" in one of the vacant spaces bordering the recently renovated Grove Plaza. It would be among six new locations planned for the groups culinary venture.  Their first location opened in Connecticut in August 2017. The flagship restaurant prides itself on serving Southern flare through their cuisine that includes southern favorites like Chicken & Waffles, Slow Cooked Apricot Ribs and "Flat"-Iron Steak and through their hospitality. (By the way, the dessert menu is even more impressive! It includes Nutella filled doughnut holes!)

Rascal Flatts' Restaurant isn't just about good food, it's about having good times with good friends as well.  The Connecticut location hosts line-dance evenings and has a performance space for live music. So, if the Boise location plays out does that mean the trio will perform at their restaurant?  Well, we're not quite sure about that but the guys DO owe the Treasure Valley a concert. They were scheduled to play the Ford Idaho Center Amphitheater in August 2014, but canceled the show because lead singer, Gary LeVox, was sick and did not have a to perform with.

Rascal Flatts isn't the first country artist to attempt to open an eatery in the Treasure Valley.  When the Village at Meridian opened, Toby Keith's "I Love This Bar and Grill" was originally planned as one of their anchor restaurants. The lease was terminated in October 2014.
