America’s Got Talent Winner Brings Christmas Show to Boise

Sometimes there's an audition on America's Got Talent that stops you dead in your tracks.  In 2017, that audition was child ventriloquist Darci Lynne!

I'll be honest, my husband and I don't follow America's Got Talent as religiously as some of our friends, but in the summer we'll have it on as background noise while we're making dinner or doing chores around the house.  Every now and then, there will be an audition that makes us drop everything we're doing, rewind the DVR and watch it from the beginning.  Last season, it was this adorable little girl with a bunny puppet.  Her name was Darci Lynne and her puppet was Petunia.  During the audition, Petunia launches into this gorgeous version of George Gershwin's "Summertime."  Our jaws dropped watching the performance because it didn't look like Darci Lynne was moving her lips at all! The judges were equally impressed, especially Mel B.  She gave Darci Lynne the "golden buzzer" sending her directly to the live shows!

The child ventriloquist went on to win the season. Her golden buzzer performance has been watched over 50 million times on YouTube and her first headlining show sold out in just six minutes! After a whirlwind year, Darci Lynne and her puppet friends are coming to the Treasure Valley to perform their "Rocking Around the Christmas Tree" spectacular at the Morrison Center on December 21st.
