Things in the Treasure Valley are looking like they may be a little "green" this Christmas.  If that puts a damper on you holiday spirit then you need to make a quick trip north of Boise!

I've been watching the extended forecast non-stop for weeks trying to get a feel of how the weather will be for the YMCA Christmas Run on Saturday and selfishly, I'm excited we're looking at spring like temperatures leading up to it! No snow! No ice! Hip, hip, hooray!

If you're someone who longs for a White Christmas, that probably breaks your heart to hear.  Unfortunately, those 40º temps are supposed to hang around through Christmas Day and it looks like if we get any snow at all, it'll be some scattered flurries on Christmas Eve.

...but we found somewhere not to far away from Boise where you can enjoy playing in the snow! Starlight Mountain Theatre in Garden Valley is getting ready to cap off the final days of their Christmas Tree Extravaganza this Friday (4-7:30 p.m.) and Saturday (10 a.m.-7:30 p.m)

Located a little over an hour north of Boise, Starlight gives you a chance to experience the magic of Christmas with sleigh rides, reindeer games and of course, a visit from Santa himself!

During the final days of the celebration, Starlight will put on a 15-minute holiday show with carolers once an hour during business hours. Once you're done checking out the show and sleigh ride, stick around and warm up with hot cocoa, coffee or warm apple cider, decorate your own Christmas ornament or frost your own Christmas cookie!

This is such a cool family Christmas experience and with the weather looking the way it does heading into the weekend, the roads to get there should be pretty darn good!
