When we told you that all three of the remaining Treasure Valley Shopko stores would be closing their doors for good this spring, many of you asked the great question "so what does that mean for the distribution center?"

According to the Idaho Statesman, the distribution center will cut 120 jobs and permanently cease operations on Gowen Road.  In order to do so, they'll need to empty out any remaining product which takes some man power.  That's why employees who agree to stay on the job through mid-April will be offered a severance package.

We're heartbroken for the team that keeps the distribution center moving day in and day out.  If you look at their Google reviews, the truck drivers who made deliveries here loved the staff. They're highly complimentary of the security guards, fast load/unload times and professionalism of the other staff there.

As for the retail store, time is dwindling to score some deals during the liquidation sales.  The Fairview and Milwaukee location's final day is scheduled for May 17. Broadway's location will close on April 8.  The Nampa location, across the street from an already empty K-Mart location, is anticipated to close on April 19.

If you filled your prescriptions through Shopko or used their optical services for glasses/contacts, you should've have already been contacted with information on future plans for pharmacy and optical.  If you have NOT been contacted by Shopko, you can find more information HERE.
