With temps near 50 today, the big thaw continues across the Treasure Valley.  If you're experiencing flooding in Canyon County, there's now help to protect your property!

Canyon County residents experiencing flooding in their neighborhood are able to come to the Lake Lowell Park parking lot on Iowa Avenue in Nampa or Highway 20-26/Pond Lane Property at 22108 Pond Ln in Caldwell.

Bags are available Saturday, January 21st from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. and Sunday, January 22nd from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Those affected by flooding are able to take up to 10 bags per property but will need a shovel to fill them themselves.

Not sure how sandbags help protect property in the event of flooding? They act as a barrier that water can flow around instead of into your building or yard.
