Celebrate Our Officers: Back the Blue Event in Caldwell on Friday
According to the official Back the Blue Idaho Website: "This is not just an event – It’s a movement of thankfulness and honor to those who every day sacrifice for our freedom! Let’s join together and love on our men and women in Blue!"
I was honored to be a part of the Back the Blue event last year at Nampa's Ford Idaho Center. We were right at the front outside when the massively impressive group of roaring motorcycles headed through the gates and lined up in front of the center to honor police.
For this year the 2021 Back the Blue rally is happening this Friday, November 17th. According to Idaho News CBS2, The governor, lieutenant governor and Caldwell mayor will be among those thanking officers in Idaho.
If you ride a motorcycle and want to join the Back the Blue motorcycle ride, entry to join the ride is $25. This year it will start at Legacy Park in Mountain Home and will end at the Caldwell Night Rodeo arena. Find out more about the ride and sign up here.
The event itself will take place after the ride at the The Caldwell Night Rodeo Arena
(2207 Blaine St Caldwell ID 83605) Gates open at 4pm with outdoor food carts, raffles and booths. The official start of the event is 6pm and will go for about 3 hours.
The event's mission is: "We will encourage, enable, and vocally stand up for our men and women in blue because we believe that law enforcement officers and their families are critical to the freedoms we cherish and the safety we enjoy."
Event organizers say they're proud to host the event in Idaho -- where there's already strong support for the blue.
