Are you still in disbelief that the last two Boise State games have been impacted by severe weather? But with Hurricane Dorian raging toward Florida, we're glad that Florida State game up with a solution that means the Broncos will actually get to play this one!

In case you forgot, Boise State's last game was the Servpro First Responder Bowl on December 26.  With 5:08 remaining in the first quarter, the game had to be delayed due to lighting in the area and was eventually cancelled about an hour and a half later.  The game was ruled a no contest.

With Dorian strengthening to a "Category 3" storm and expected to make landfall sometime during the long Labor Day weekend, the decision was made to move BSU's season opener to Florida State's stadium in Tallahassee.  The move bumped kicked off up to 10 a.m. and over to ESPN News.

ESPN News can be found on channel 135 on Cable One/Sparklight, 207 on DirecTV and 142 on Dish Network. Unfortunately, not all cable subscribers in the Treasure Valley will have access to the game.  Here at the station, we're on the Cable One/Sparklight standard package and it does not include access to the channel 135. NOOOOO!!!

So we asked "which sports bars and restaurants are opening for a viewing party?" Based on your responses, here are some places that plan to be up and running for the game bright and early!

  • Old Chicago Boise Downtown | 730 W Idaho St, Boise
  • Jalapeños | 1555 Broadway, Boise
  • Jalapeños | 8799 W Franklin Rd, Boise

That said, if you rather not watch the game at a restaurant at 10 a.m., our listeners tell us that by signing up for a free trial of Hulu Live or Sling you should have access to ESPN News.
