One way to beat the heat this weekend will be on a dunk tank at a Boise back-to-school festival.  And proceeds will help an elementary school build a new reading center.

Wright Community Church is hosting its Central Bench Back-to-School Carnival this Sunday, with food, games, a bounce house, and a really inviting dunk tank.  The extreme heat should die down by Sunday afternoon, but still, I bet they'll have plenty of volunteers asking to sit on that dunk tank, begging to get totally drenched.

If you're like me, you're constantly scanning for fun things to do with the kids, before it's time to buckle down and get into the fall routine.  A sugar-rush that's burned off in a bounce house is always a winner!  And here's the best reason to leave the comfort of our cool, air-conditioned houses this weekend.  Proceeds from the back-to-school bash will help Jefferson Elementary build new reading centers.

Wright UCC says it's "open and affirming of all people regardless of age, ability, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender identity, economic circumstances, or marital status."  And they'll have cooler weather this weekend for the carnival, with temps on Sunday around 89.

Wright Community Congregational Church of Christ is located at 4821 W. Franklin Road in Boise in the Bench area, and the carnival is set for Sunday, Aug. 12, from 1-4 p.m. And it's FREE to get in.  Have a great weekend!
