A LITE-FM Christmas Wish for Angie

LITE-FM's Christmas Wish is back, thanks to our friends at Pioneer Federal Credit Union. 

When we read Brian and Christy's letter about their niece, Angie, there wasn't a dry eye in the room. Angie and her husband, Greg, met in 2008 and had the cutest first date story. Greg had the opportunity to go to a BSU football game that day but decided to sacrifice that opportunity to bring Angie a Subway sandwich and spend time with her on her lunch break at work. Their love story just kept growing from there. During their 12 years of marriage, Greg was so proud of being able to care for Angie and their son, Caden.

Then tragedy struck in the summer of 2021. Greg, a fitness buff in his own right, started not feeling well. The family was stunned when they discovered that he needed a heart valve replacement at the age of 38. Leading up to the surgery, Greg's main concern was Caden. He wanted his son to be happy and know just how loved he was.

Both Angie and Caden expected Greg to come home shortly after his surgery. Unfortunately, Greg went into septic shock during the operation and passed away. His death flipped Angie's life upside down. She went from being excited about finishing school and landing a new job, to worrying about what her family's future looked like without the man that had been their rock for so long.

Brian and Christy told us that Angie's surrounded by a lot of love in their family, but knew that her first Christmas without Greg would be rough. Their wish was for us to put together something that would bring Angie a little extra cheer. We truly believe that Greg intervened in this gift in some way, because we ended up bringing her something we didn't expect to mean so much!

We sent our delivery elf, Brittiany, out in the Treasure Valley Subaru delivery sleigh to surprise Angie and you'll have goosebumps when you hear what happened during our visit!  (Click play to hear the surprise!)
