A LITE-FM Christmas Wish for Jacob
LITE-FM's Christmas Wish is back, thanks to our friends at Pioneer Federal Credit Union.
Valerie wrote to us about her husband, Jacob and the traumatic incident that happened to their family earlier this year. Jacob, a disabled veteran, was riding his motorcycle while she and their kids were in the car behind him. A driver struck him hard enough that he ended up breaking both femurs, a wrist, ankle, ribs and humorous. The accident also caused radial nerve damaged.
His recovery is going well, but the family still has some challenges ahead of them. In addition to his motorcycle, he has a Malibu with a dead battery. The registration lapsed on it while he was recovering and with all of the medical bills, the family is strapped for resources to get it back on the road and registered.
Valerie asked us for a little help, because right now Jacob's motorcycle is his only form a transportation while she has the family's other car with her at work. Even with heated gear, it's really cold riding the motorcycle in the winter and when the weather starts to get snowy, the bike won't be an option. That means if he needs to be at a follow-up appointment at the VA, Valerie has to take time off work to get him there.
This family has been through enough this year and that's why we were excited load up the Treasure Valley Subaru Delivery Sleigh to drop off a surprise to help get this family back on the road!
