When we told you that the City of Boise has decided to not open their public pools this summer, many of you asked "will Roaring Springs do the same thing?" We think you'll be pleased with this announcement from our friends at the water park.

On Friday, Roaring Springs posted a message on their website from CEO Patrick Morandi announcing the completion of the park's newest ride, Snake River Run. In the letter to guests, Morandi also let guests now that they are planning to open the park for the 2020 season when the time is right. Right now, they're aiming for a late-May or early-June opening. According to the park's Facebook page, they've received approval from state and local health authorities.

On their COVID-19 resource page, the CDC states that there's currently no evidence that the virus can spread through water in pools, hot tubs or spas that follow proper operation and maintenance, using chemicals like chlorine and bromine.

Unlike other aquatic facilities in the Treasure Valley, Roaring Springs also has ultra violet filters installed in their pools. They're meant to disrupt the DNA of things like algae, bacteria and viruses so that they can't reproduce. While the park has had these for a while, it's a great extra layer of protection for guests.

Their comprehensive plan for a safe opening day and season evolves each day, so make sure you follow the park on social media and their website for the latest updates. We're sure they'll better address crowd capacities and how they plan to enforce social distancing guidelines in gathering spots like queue lines, restrooms and restaurants as opening day nears.

They've also developed a "Peace of Mind" policy for season pass holders who may not feel comfortable visiting the park this year. Those wishing to do so can transfer their season pass to 2021 or exchange your pass for a gift card of equal value to be used at Roaring Springs or Wahooz in the future.

Those choosing to use their season pass this year, will get bonused a FREE Bring-a Friend ticket that can be used any day during the 2020 season. As long as mother nature allows, they'll also extend the season into September to make up for missed time.
