Jersey Mike's to Donate 100% Of Proceeds to Charity Wednesday

On Wednesday, Jersey Mike's is celebrating their annual "Day of Giving" where all of their stores across the country will donate 100% of their proceeds to charities in cities. Here in the Treasure Valley, the two Jersey Mike's locations will be supporting a charity called Hearts for Hadley.

At 18 months old, Hadley Alexander was diagnosed with a rare disease called cystinosis. The disease causes a build-up of an amino acid called cystine in the body and that build-up eventually destroys all major organs like the kidneys, liver, eyes, muscles and brain. Those living with cystinosis experience some pretty awful symptoms like sensitivity to light because crystals form in their eyes and renal failure that could result in needing a kidney transplantation.

Hadley's got a great team of doctors on her side who are managing her condition in a way that allows her to be 8 year-old girl who can play dress up with her big sister! She still has her days where her medication makes her feel sick and is no stranger to blood draws and eye drops, but she doesn't let that stop her! Hadley and her family want to help find a cure for others living with cystinosis, so they formed Hearts for Hadley to raise money for the Cystinosis Research Foundation.

The ultimate goal is to find a cure for the disease, but dollars raised for CRS has helped create better treatments for people like Hadley and we think that rocks!
