It's almost time to snuggle up on the couch with some Thin Mints and forgive ourselves for polishing off an entire sleeve in one sitting.  Girl Scout cookie pre-sales are on now.

Sucking on a Tagalong until the cookie part melts in your mouth and mixes perfectly with the chocolate and peanut butter makes for a pretty great night.   And Thin Mints in the freezer!  Don't even get me started.

Wide Open Eats broke it down state-by-state and said the Thin Mint is the favorite Girl Scout cookie in Idaho.  Oregon, Nevada, Utah, California, and Arizona are right there with us, picking the Thin Mint as the favorite, while Montana prefers the Tagalong/Peanut Butter Patty, and Washington likes the coconut-caramel Samoa.  Oh, why pick just one, really, when we can help the Girl Scouts with the entrepreneurial pursuits by ordering six or thirteen boxes.  It's all for a good cause.

Girl Scouts of Silver Sage have pre-sales happening now through January 31st and that means we can buy cookies from a Girl Scout using the Digital Cookie platform.  The online map helps locate a local troop and order online using that digital cookie link.  Links for troops in Boise, Nampa, Caldwell, Eagle, and Meridian are posted, and when you order, you can choose to have the cookies shipped to your door, or a scout will deliver them in person.

Clicking on a digital cookie link shows each girl's story too.  Kaileigh said, "I want to earn enough money for my Troop to go to Wahooz together. I want to learn how to count money better."  And to help her reach her goal, we get to feed our cookie craving.  Sweet!  That sounds like a win-win.

Booth sales will happen in February and March, right around the time we'll be polishing off round one so we'll be ready for round two.

I sold Girl Scout cookies as a kid, and it really was exciting to learn the process, practice budding business skills, and experience tiny bits of success.  Now is a great time to help Treasure Valley Girl Scouts with their goals, and come up with a huge stash of cookies for the freezer too.  Oh, and the peanut buttery Do-Si-Dos dunked in coffee...thanks, Scouts!
