Admittedly, I went to the New Kids on the Block Concert last night because my mom really wanted to go, but that ended up being one of the best concerts I’ve ever been to in my life! Not only did New Kids on the Block, En Vogue, Salt-N-Pepa, and Rick Astley absolutely tear up that Ford Idaho Center stage... but there was an immense amount of nostalgia and gratitude that was definitely felt by everyone in the arena.

You could tell, this was truly one of their greatest nights on tour and the artists were extremely grateful. In fact, Donnie Wahlberg opened up quite a bit and shared some words that hit close to home for us Idahoans.

“People always underestimate you Idaho — and they underestimate your football teams, too."

"People never believe this state. People never believe in the power of this city, and yet somehow on a random Tuesday night, you kicked ass and are the best crowd on this entire tour. You did that! Can we keep it going?!"

That is so true. Idaho is a great state, Boise is a great city, and we’re often overlooked in many ways...

But what I learned last night, and what the NKOTB Mixtape Tour learned last night, is Idaho freakin’ shows up for people! We have so much to offer, and there are definitely enough fans here to make any concert an absolute blast! I hope this message travels to other artists and labels and tour agencies so we can keep the good shows coming through Idaho.

Near the end of the concert, and just as Rick Astley joined them on stage to sing Never Gonna Give You Up, Donnie Wahlberg said, “Nothing like a quiet Tuesday night in Boise, Idaho, huh? It’s all you Boise. We’re only here because of the love in your hearts.” After the song, Donnie said, “Boise, we love you so much. Thank you for being the absolute greatest audience of the entire tour. Tuesdays in Boise, let’s make it a thing!”

I agree, let’s make a thing! Keep those good shows coming! Keep scrolling for other upcoming concerts in Boise this year 👇
