Orange juice and champagne? The classic mimosa is so yesterday! While you’ll find the old standby on the menu at Idaho’s trendiest brunch restaurant, you’ll quickly realize it’s been overshadowed by the 14 other innovative flavors the restaurant’s staff dreamed up!

In June 2021, the Godsill Company, longtime owners of the Treasure Valley’s Sunrise Cafe locations, introduced a new, uniquely Boise concept known as the “Brunchette.” The trendy new concept is an acronym that accurately describes what the restaurant is about.

Since that very first location, Huck House Brunchette, opened, the company has opened two more brunchette locations. Blue Bench Brunchette on Overland followed in January 2022 and McCall welcomed Brunchette on the Lake just before Fourth of July 2022.

Even if you haven’t had a chance to sample one of the Brunchettes yet, chances are photos of their decor, food or cocktails have graced your newsfeed! That’s because just about everything is Instagram-worthy. The plant walls and neon signs scream “Let’s take a selfie.” The food, whether it’s something savory like one of their eight Eggs Benedict dishes or something sweet like their brioche French Toast, looks so good that you want to lick your phone. The pictures I've seen of the French Toast are EXACTLY why it's what I ordered the first time I went and let me tell you, it tasted as good as it looks!  (Cool bonus? The ingredients that bring these yummy dishes together are locally sourced.)

But it’s their mimosas that shine the brightest, quite literally! All three brunchette locations serve 15 different flavors that are beyond anything that you’ve imagined before. Some of the flavors include:

Tiffany & Mosa

This is where that “shine” we mentioned is front and center! The Brunchette turns this mimosa that iconic shade of teal-blue using edible glitter mixed with lemon, lime, soda, juniper berry and honey. They add a little extra sparkle by putting diamond sugar on the rim.

Huckleberry Mint

When Huckleberries are one of your state’s most iconic foods, you have to find a way to marry them to a refreshing cocktail! This mimosa is made with fresh huckleberries, limes, lemons, mint and orange juice.

Gold Digger

Another one of their shinest cocktails, this mimosa puts a twist on the classic mimosa by adding edible gold glitter and pineapple juice to the orange juice!

Hibiscus Flower

It’s almost too pretty to drink, but trust us when we say you absolutely need to try this one! This refreshing mimosa submerges a hibiscus flower in white grape juice.

Watermelon-Agave Fresca

Who said that Watermelon was just a summertime picnic food? This mimosa sticks a slice of the juicy pink fruit on the rim of a mimosa made with watermelon juice, agave nectar, lemon and limes. It gives you a taste of summer no matter what time of the year it is!

Other flavors include: classic, blushing, strawberry basil, orange lavender, mango fresh, rosemary fruit, raspberry cream (made with melted ice cream,) rose gold, sparkling fig (an apple cider mimosa,) and magic berry fresca. With that many choices, it’s hard to pick just one!

Well, luckily, you don’t have to! The Brunchette offers Mimosa flights of any four flavors you’d like to sample or the Mosa Tree! The Mosa Tree includes 12 mimosas for the table and can be ordered in a Classic, Pick 3 or Sampler variation. I tried the Tiffany & Mosa, orange lavender, orange cream and strawberry basil ones on a sampler. It was hard to pick a favorite, but I'd have to give my pick to the Strawberry Basil!

Not in the mood for an adult beverage? The Brunchette also serves freshly squeezed orange juice house-roasted coffee and an impressive selection of specialty coffee drinks like a Cinnamon Maple Latte, S'mores espresso drink and White Lavender Mocha.

With food and drinks that look (and taste) this good, it's no surprise that all three of the Brucnehtte locations can get busy, especially on weekends! If you're planning to head there to celebrate a special occasion like a birthday or just because you can avoid long waits at the restaurant by getting on their online waitlist.
