All skiers and snowboards in the Treasure Valley have been anticipating Bogus Basis opening up by Thanksgiving because they have new snowmaking equipment this year. Unfortunately, there have been some problems so the wait might be a little longer than expected.

Our friends at KTVB, first broke the news after they got word from Bogus Basin General Manager, Brad Wilson.  This new snowmaking equipment was supposed to cover nearly 60 acres no matter what the actual weather was like here in Boise. The issues with the equipment has been minor but still frustrating as everyone was looking forward to the Turkey Day opening.

The system is expected to be working fully by the end of November, and the mountain will be open for business shortly after that. Typically the ski season on Bogus Basin lasts until April, but for now people will have to be patient until they can hit the powder.
