If you fly from Boise to Seattle or San Diego, your options for flights have just increased as Alaska Airlines and Southwest have added new service to both popular destinations.

For Alaska, they have long offered the most Boise to Seattle options each day, though now they have brought on one mainline aircraft service per day, which means the addition of about 70 seats and the use of a larger Boise 737 aircraft (once per day in each direction). Alaska continues to use smaller Bombardier Q400 prop aircraft and Embraer E175 jet service for their other seven daily Seattle flights.

Alaska flies direct to nine cities, including Lewiston, Portland, Reno, Sacramento, Salt Lake City, San Jose, Spokane, Seattle, and San Diego.

Southwest has now added daily service from Boise to San Diego.  This joins Alaska in offering the direct service, and also utilizes 737 aircraft.  This joins their six other direct flights from Boise, including Oakland, Phoenix, Las Vegas, Chicago, Sacramento, and Spokane.
