The Village at Meridian has become such an essential part of the city it calls home that it's hard to remember what Eagle Road and the surrounding area looked like before it's construction! Let us refresh your memory!

When I moved to the Treasure Valley almost a decade ago, The Village at Meridian was a pipe dream that many couldn't wait to see come true.  After years of talking about the outdoor shopping and entertainment complex, CenterCal Properties opened a small strip of stores called The Village North and Big Al's in 2012.  The core of the shopping center made up of longtime tenants, Village Cinema, Yard House and Kona Grille opened the following year.

Today, it's home to over 20 restaurants, 30 clothing stores, 2 entertainment venues, office space and a smattering of gyms like Axiom and Cyclebar. They're not done growing yet! Last May, The Village announced that they're planning to break ground on a second movie theater targeting adults.

There's no doubt that the Village has become a destination for people from all reaches of the Treasure Valley and it's hard to remember what the drive into that area looked like before it's construction.  We dug into the Google Earth archives to refresh your memory of what the area around the I-84/Eagle off ramp looked like almost a decade ago. The photos are pretty wild!
