No Mask Mandate for Canyon County But You’ll Need One at These Retailers
Third time's a charm. Southwest District Health was finally able to move forward with their next meeting to discuss the best way to slow the spread of COVID-19 in Canyon County, which recently became one of Idaho's hot spots.
At the end of the meeting, they did not move forward with a mandatory mask order for the 2C similar to the one that Central District Health enacted in Ada County last week. Instead, they voted to simply recommend wearing masks in settings that fall in the yellow, orange or red health alert levels on a new tool they rolled out on their website. You can view those classifications on a flyer prepared by Southwest District Health by clicking HERE.
Retail shopping falls in to the lower gray alert level, but many major retailers have decided to introduce their own nationwide mask requirements to cover their locations in places like Canyon County who are not under a local or statewide mask order. That list gets larger everyday, but right now it includes:
- Fred Meyer
- Best Buy
- Rite Aid
- Home Depot
- Bed Bath & Beyond
- Winco (Beginning July 24)
- Target (Beginning August 1)
