No Football? No Problem! Meridian Business Throws Crafting Tailgate Party

We didn't know how 2020 was going to hurt our Bronco loving hearts until Labor Day.

Admit it. You love college football so much that you caved and watched BYU crush Navy on Monday night. Going into that game, you didn't expect it to feel so personally crushing until the announcers started talking about rankings and the College Football playoffs. That's when it hit you. 67 of the 130 Division I Bowl Subdivision teams are playing for a shot at that title. Thanks to the Mountain West canceling fall football, Boise State won't be one of them.

Feels like a kick in the stomach all over again, right? It's hard to imagine Albertsons Stadium dark on Saturday evenings. It's crazy to think the crisp fall air not being filled with the sounds of the Blue Thunder Marching Air. And the tailgate lot? It looks a little bit "Day After Tomorrow" with its village of tents and RVs.

If tailgating's what you're going to miss the most, you've got an opportunity to do some tailgating with a twist! Our friend Cyd at Hammer & Stain in Meridian is bringing all of the fun of tailgating to her DIY workshop on Saturday, September 19!

There's room for 12 cars to park a safe distance from each other. You may arrive with a car load of 4-6 of your closest friends. From there you set up your tables tailgate style so that you have space create a wood sign to hang up in your home! Many of the pre-selected designs are fall themed or you can upload a custom file to have her make as a stencil for your sign. All the materials like the stains, paints and wood are included in your registration fee!

It may not be tailgating the way you're used to it, but it's still a super fun way to spend some time with the gals you usually spend those football evenings with! You can even grab a sandwich from Melt Food Truck who will be there serving up some tailgate fare for purchase.

I made this cool Advent calendar for our studio at Hammer & Stain the last time I was there and had so much fun with Cyd and my girlfriends during the workshop. I'm really excited to see this dream she told us about that night come to life!
