Throughout Idaho's six month long ordeal with COVID-19, Costco's a business who's name appeared in headlines that pushed people over the edge more than a few times. We're happy that this story is about celebrating the arrival of a new option for Meridian shoppers!

According to a Facebook event hosted by the official Costco account, the new Costco location at 3403 W Chinden Blvd in Meridian will welcome members for the fist time at 8 a.m. on Thursday, October 15. The new location is approximately a 22 minute drive from the Boise location on Cole Rd, so it will definitely cut down on commute times for Costco members who live in deep Meridian.

The COVID-19 pandemic has been a strange time for Costco. They were one of the first businesses to publicly announce COVID-19 safety precautions and policy changes across their entire network. Between the temporary decision to only allow two people per membership card to enter their warehouses, becoming an early adopter of a mask policy, limiting the purchase of certain products including fresh meet and pushing pause on their popular sheet cakes they've dealt with plenty of backlash. (Cue the "You can't make me do this. I'm cancelling my membership!" comments on social media.)

Through it all, we've felt so bad for the Costco employees who try to make their warehouse a fun shopping experience. We're glad that Team Costco gets a reason to celebrate soon! They deserve a reason to smile!
