A LITE-FM Christmas Wish for Mary S.

LITE-FM's Christmas Wish is back, thanks to our friends at Pioneer Federal Credit Union.

Call this one a long distance Christmas Wish. When Sonya reached out to us about her sister Mary, half of Mary's family was still here in Idaho while she and her son, Fernando, were at California Children's Hospital. Fernando, who's only 10 years old, was born with a heart condition and has already undergone one heart transplant.

Unfortunately, he started showing signs that his body was rejecting the heart. His medical team was able to manage the symptoms with medication for a little while, but inevitably found that he was experiencing heart failure again.

That's why the entire family is now in California. They received some good news that not only was Fernando able to get back on the heart transplant list, he's near the top of it!

Between Fernando's medical condition and buying their first home just months before he got sick again, finances are tight for the family and Sonya said that anything we could do to help would be a blessing for them. We packed up a big surprise and FedExed it to Fernando's hospital room! (Click play to hear the surprise!)
