Young men and women walking in suits and dress pants on Sundays has been a familiar sight to Twin Falls locals for decades.

Sundays are a day for relaxing for most people, but for others, it's a day of 'no thank yous', being avoided with the help of property cameras, and having doors closed on them.

Have Twin Falls Missionaries Gone From Knocking To Roadside Sermons?

Idaho Mormon missionaries use Sundays as an opportunity to engage in faith discussions with total strangers, and it rubs certain people the wrong way. One southern Idaho resident recently claimed that these sharp-dressed messengers of spirituality are leaving neighborhoods for busy roadways in attempts to spread their message.

From 2016 to 2017, I lived in an area of Twin Falls that was a hotspot for weekend missionaries of the local church. Occasionally, I'd see them coming and head into the backyard until they had moved on. They were usually two, teenage to early-twenties males wearing white collared shirts and dark ties that walked our neighborhood.

I've never been bothered by missionaries showing up at my front door over the weekend. It doesn't take a lot for a person to say, 'No Thanks', and go about their day. They're just trying to help a cause they find to be inspiring and spiritually fulfilling.

In all my years living in the Magic Valley, I've never been approached while at a stoplight or while sitting in traffic. No one has ever signaled for me to pull into a shopping center or roll my window down.

I was surprised by a recent post to Magic Valley Rants/Raves by someone claiming to have been approached by a local missionary while driving. I think there's a time and place for these types of discussions, and being approached while sitting in a car would not be one of those.

'Huge RANT', is how this local began the post last week. This individual claims a missionary began 'preaching' while they were in traffic on Pole Line Road in Twin Falls.

Has this happened to you in Twin Falls? If so, how did it make you feel?

Honest Twin Falls Welcome Signs

I'm pretty certain that most people don't fully understand what 'Twin Falls' actually means. On that note, if Twin Falls had an honest welcome sign: what would it say?
