We're in the thick of spring, and it's one of the best times of the year to purge any unwanted items. For some people, that means selling off those items at Idaho's Largest Garage Sale, which is happening on May 17 between 7 AM and 5 PM.

For others, it's taking unwanted items to the dump.

A Free Dump Day Is Coming Up For Canyon County Residents

If you're looking to get rid of your stuff and don't want to have to pay for it, your day is coming up. According to Canyon County officials, the Canyon County Landfill is hosting its FREE day at the dump on Saturday, April 26, 2025.

As exciting as that might sound, it doesn't mean you can take as much as you want. Canyon County says, "up to one ton of residential clean-up waste will be accepted without charge."

If you go over that limit, then you'll pay the "regular landfill fee schedule with a credit given for the first ton."

What Else Can You Take To The Dump?

If you're looking to get rid of your fridge, you'll be allowed to take one refrigeration unit per household. If you recently had work done on your car and have some tires lying around, you can take up to four "car/light truck" tires in on Saturday, April 26th.

If you're looking to dispose of other waste like wood and metal, you'll be able to take in up to one ton of wood and metal waste.
