GAME DAY GUIDE: Everything You Need to Know about Boise State vs Air Force
What channel is the game on? Where should we park? We've got all the answers and more!
Boise State Broncos (8-2) vs Air Force (4-6)
- Date: Saturday, November 18th
- Kickoff: 8:15 p.m.
Why is this game so important for BSU?
EVERYTHING matters in this game against the Air Force Academy. If Boise State wins this game, they're guaranteed a spot in the Mountain West Championship game in December. (If they win and win against Fresno State on the road next weekend, that game will be here at home at Albertsons Stadium.) Now ranked #25 in the CFP rankings, Boise State has a (outside) chance to crash a New Year's Six Bowl. While their fate lays in the hands of UCF, Memphis and South Florida, the only thing Boise State can control is what's happening on "The Blue" and that MUST be a win.
That win won't come easy. Don't let Air Force's record trick you. We have problems matching up against this team and have lost to them in the last three meetings. Air Force has gotten the better of us in 2014 (28-14 at Air Force,) 2015 (37-30 on The Blue, I remember sitting at this game going "tell me we're not about to lose to Air Force AGAIN) and 2016 (27-20 at Air Force.)
Boise State's got to not let the adrenaline rush from last week's 28 point comeback come between them and a win against a weaker opponent. I'd like to see this game be a blowout instead of the close games between these two we've seen the last few seasons.
That said, it's hard to hate on a military academy. We sincerely thank all the members of Air Force's football team for their commitment to serving our country off the field.
Will I be able to watch this one on regular TV?
ESPN 2 this week, Bronco fans! Catch the game on Cable One (Ch 134,) DirecTV (Ch 209) or Dish (Ch 143.)
What time does the tailgate lot open?
The lot opens eight hours before kick-off on weekend game days, so make a day of it and make your way over to Albertsons Stadium starting at Noon!
Where should I park for the game?
Various lots near Boise State will have parking available for a fee. I usually park at the US Bank on Broadway (Which I found out wasn't as cheap as I thought it was! It costs $20 on game day to park there) Our parking lot at Townsquare Media is much cheaper pay lot option. It's a short half mile walk via the Greenbelt to Albertsons Stadium. This year there will also be FREE parking in Kristin Armstrong Municipal Park, Julia Davis, Ann Morrison Park and Riverside Park. You just need to remove your vehicles from those parks by 3 a.m. on Sunday to avoid being towed.
Will someone give me a ride to the game?
Sure! The Bronco Shuttle for the 2017 season. They'll run every 15 minutes from 8th Street (between Idaho & Bannock,) 6th & Grove, 8th & Main and 8th & Broad. There's a new shuttle stop at Payette Brewing at River & 12th this season as well! The shuttle is free and starts running two hours before kickoff and will take you back Downtown for an hour after the game.
What color do I wear to the game?
Anything you want as long as it's Blue or Orange! The game also serves as "Senior Day" so Boise State is running a "Spirit Day" scheme.
Where can I drink alcohol before the game?
The 10 to 10 zone where those 21 and up can drink from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. is back again this year. As long as you have your alcohol in a plastic cup within the zone you can do so in THIS area.
Can I still get tickets?
Sure can! Single game tickets range from $39-$79. You can buy them through Boise State's website, over the phone or the ticket office on game day. Their goal is to sell out the stadium this game (and Elliot Hoyte's "fill the stands" campaign definitely helped) so don't wait to get your tickets.
