Earn Cash by Trading in Your Halloween Candy in Meridian
I woke up to an onslaught of Facebook posts from friends that bought way too much Halloween candy to pass out to trick-or-treaters, only to have a a small handful of costumed kiddos show up at their doorsteps.
Most of those posts were coming from people in the Boise Bench Dweller's Facebook group saying only 5-8 kids knocked on their doors, leaving them with bowls of full sized candy bars left over. Other parents took their kids to four nights of consecutive Trunk-or-Treat events and now have an over abundance of fun sized candy bars. You have two options to get the candy out of your house.
Option 1? Eat it all. Just remember, they've scientifically proven eating 262 of those little treats in one sitting can be toxic (even fatal) to organs like your liver, eyes and heart. We'd doubt you'd binge that much, but we just thought you should know!
Option 2? Trade in your candy for cash! Sure, you won't earn back all the money you spent the candy that didn't get handed out but a little cash is better than nothing. Meridian based dentist, Scott Grant, is hosting his office's annual "Candy Buy Back" event today from 4-6 p.m.
Bring your candy to their office at 2275 S. Eagle Road Suite 140 in Meridian and they'll buy back up to five pounds at the rate of $1 per pound. The candy will be then donated to the troops serving our country in the United States military through Operation Gratitude.
While you're there, book a dental appointment or refer a new patient and the office will thank you with a pair of FREE movie tickets. With the new Thor movie, Justice League and Star Wars: The Last Jedi all coming out in the next month and a half, those would be nice to have in your back pocket!
The event goes on today only, so don't miss out on your chance to make a little money off those Halloween treats!
