October is Hispanic Heritage Month, and being Latino myself, it's exciting to see other people celebrate the culture. One of the best and most delicious ways to participate in the month is to try a restaurant that you've never been to or a restaurant you love that serves excellent Mexican food.

Sure there are plenty of chains where you can order tacos, burritos, or margaritas. Still, the best food is always found in a locally owned, authentic Mexican restaurant. I went to Yelp to find Boise's top spots for you to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month with food.

#1 - Taqueria La Flama
1680 N Westland Dr
Boise, ID 83704
As you read reviews for La Flama, you don't get a sense of their best menu option because everyone raves about something different. I did find a few different reviews mention the Asada Fries, and the picture makes me want to stop in this weekend.

#2 - Andrade's Restaurante Mexicano
4620 W Overland Rd
Boise, ID 83705
Reviews of Andrade's are all filled with comments about their excellent service. Additionally, so many say that this is the best Mexican restaurant in town. I have also heard that from some of my co-workers.

#3 - The Matador
215 N 8th St
Boise, ID 83702
You can't mention The Matador without mentioning their amazing location Downtown. They are indeed in the heart of Boise. Almost every review says the Matador's happy hour. Another common theme in the reviews is positive feedback on their Brussel sprouts. Any restaurant that gets excellent reviews on Brussel sprouts is a must-try!
