If you had your heart set on seeing Godzilla vs Kong on the big screen at your favorite Edwards Theater this weekend, we're telling you this now so that you can make plans to see it elsewhere.

I was sitting in Marco's office last week when I got my first alert in ages from the Regal app and tried to hold back a squeal when I read "Re-opening Begins April 2: Regal is thrilled to welcome our guests back to movies in April."

Apparently, that alert didn't mean ALL of the Regal theaters across the country would be re-opening on April 2. A few days later, Regal updated their website letting fans know that only select theaters would be open for Godzilla vs Kong's opening weekend. Most of those theaters were in major cities like New York, Los Angeles, Orlando and Florida.

That update went on to list several other re-opening dates and here's what we discovered actually reading through the list. Edward's at the Boise Spectrum is slated to open on April 16. Mortal Kombat was supposed to open that weekend but later got pushed back a week.

Edwards at the Nampa Gateway re-opens May 14, opening weekend for the Chris Rock and Samuel L. Jackson thriller Sprial and Angelina Jolie's Those Who Wish Me Dead.

Edwards at the Nampa Spectrum opens on May 21. There's no major wide releases scheduled for that weekend, but they will be open in time for A Quiet Place Part II and Cruella, the origin story for 101 Dalmatians villain Cruella DeVil. Emma Stone plays the lead role.

The BoDo Edwards has permanently closed.

If you are truly bummed about not being able to see Godzilla vs Kong at the Edwards closest to your home, you have some other options. The Majestic in Meridian has anywhere between 19-24 screenings a day during opening weekends. Village Cinema has screenings in their Giant Screen, luxury recliner and regular theater configurations. Eagle Luxe Reel has up to four screenings a day during opening weekend. You can see it in 3D there tonight (Wednesday) and tomorrow (Thursday) at 8.
