A LITE-FM Christmas Wish for Patie

LITE-FM's Christmas Wish is back, thanks to our friends at Pioneer Federal Credit Union. 

Today's Christmas Wish hit really close to home for me. Earlier this year, my father-in-law passed away. Over the past few years, his dementia progressed rapidly and it broke my heart to see my husband's face when he'd hang up the phone with him. My husband felt so helpless and just hoped he was making the right medical decisions for his dad from across the country.

Adam's stepmom Patie was in a similar situation with her husband of 16 years. He battled dementia for three years before passing away in October. Adam tells us that Patie stepped into the difficult role of primary caretaker with such grace and selflessness, that he wanted to find a way to say thank you for what she did for his dad and his family.

Caretakers of dementia patients really put their everything into that role and often neglect their own selfcare and mental well being, so we loaded up Marco in the Treasure Valley Subaru Delivery sleigh to bring Patie a surprise to help her rediscover some me time! (Click play below to hear it!)
