A LITE-FM Christmas Wish for Mary

LITE-FM's Christmas Wish is back, thanks to our friends at Pioneer Federal Credit Union. 

Buying your first house should be a really exciting time, but for Liz's sister Mary it ended up being an utter nightmare. When Mary's husband got a new job in Idaho, the family relocated from out of state and after a pretty exhausting search, decided to purchase their very first home ever in Caldwell.

Unfortunately, the sellers were less than honest about their black mold problem. Not long after moving in, Mary's youngest son started getting really ill. That's when they discovered the sellers hadn't had the mold remediated as they had claimed. Mary and Chris hoped that they'd try to make it right, but the sellers said "sue us."

The couple spent a significant amount of their savings and borrowed money from those in their inner circle to try and fix the home. During the process, Mary and her kids moved back to Utah and slept on family members' couches while Chris rented a small room in Idaho so that he could keep working at his new job.

Because their belongings had been in the home with the mold, many of them were contaminated and couldn't be salvaged. Liz initially asked us to grant her Christmas Wish for Mary of helping to rebuild the two boys' stuffed animal collections but we knew the need was much greater than that.

So we shared Mary's story with Dan and his team at Litster Frost Injury Lawyers in Boise. Their office got together and was able to replace far more than that!

This Christmas Wish was so much fun, that we wanted you to hear the entire Christmas Wish as it aired on the station this morning.
