A LITE-FM Christmas Wish for Jett

LITE-FM's Christmas Wish is back, thanks to our friends at Pioneer Federal Credit Union. This year's 14th wish went to Jett and his family.

Whitney got to head up a really special group of elves that go by the name of the Boise Belles. They're a group of ladies who embrace the vintage elegance of the pin-up gals from the 1940s and take that spirit out with them to volunteer all over the community. One of their own is having an incredibly difficult year and this tight knit group wanted to do something special for her.

No parent is prepared to hear the words, "your child has cancer" but earlier this year that nightmare became a reality for Rachele and her husband, Micah. Their four year-old son, Jett, was diagnosed with stage 4 Neuroblastoma a little over two months ago. The cancer is aggressive and Jett had to begin treatment immediately. He's already been through four rounds of chemo and has a bone marrow transplant in the future. The cost of his treatment has put a real strain on the family's finances since Rachele is a stay at home mom and Micah's the sole income for the family.

The couple also lives with Rachele's grandfather who's facing his own health challenges and has a 10 year-old daughter who's had to make some sacrifices while her brother is going through treatment.

One of the Belles mentioned that Jett happens to be be a HUGE Marvel fan, so we loaded up the Team Subaru of Nampa Ascent delivery sleigh with some of our friends from the Treasure Valley Avengers to go surprise this little super hero before he heads back to St. Luke's for round five of chemo. They wanted to drop off some gifts since Jett will still be in the hospital when Santa drops by the house.
