LITE-FM's Christmas Wish is back, thanks to our friends at Pioneer Federal Credit Union.

You'll be hard pressed to find a grandma more proud of their grandchild than Ory. Adelicia was her first grandchild and she's so proud of the woman she grew up to be. She started working right after High School and was never out of work until the pandemic hit. Adelicia was laid off from her job and it was terrible timing.

While enjoying a day at Jump Creek, she slipped and broke her ankle. The break was bad enough that it required surgery. She was using a COBRA plan to pay for physical therapy since she no longer had insurance through work. When the plan ran out, she had to stop therapy and just recently started walking without a brace.

The situation made finances really tight for Adelicia, her fiance and four year-old son. When their used clothes dryer broke and they couldn't fix it, Adelicia started hanging their clothes up around the house or going to her dad's to dry them. Money needed to go toward rent and other expenses. Adelicia was eventually invited back to her old job and is starting to bounce back, but money's still really tight. Her little boy routinely tells Grandma Ory that he's on the nice list and how excited he is for Santa to come visit. It's stressing Adelicia out because she know it might not be possible to give him a good Christmas this year as she's trying to get back on her feet both literally and figuratively.

When we shared her story with our sales department at LITE-FM, a few of them got together and decided to put together a huge surprise for her. Jaci crashed her workday so we could deliver the great news! (Click play to hear the surprise!)
