It will happen within a few months.

This Mexican restaurant has been in Downtown Boise since 1995, but in early 2017 the roasted chicken burritos will be replaced with something else.

Pollo Rey Mexican Restaurant says on its Facebook page that it will close by the end of the year, but the Idaho Statesman says the timeline has been revised and February is more likely for the shut down.  Then it will take a couple of months for upgrades and renovations, and a new restaurant will pop up in its place in the spring.

When it reopens, the new restaurant will have a whole new look with several upgrades and a new design, and it will no longer be fast casual.

Pollo Rey is at 222 N. 8th St. if you want to go grab something off the current menu.  We'll keep you updated!
