Random Acts of Kindness are Happening in the Treasure Valley
Have you noticed anyone being over-the-top nice lately? I'd love to hear that story. I'm a sucker for random acts of kindness.
There's no prize involved here, because that would defeat the purpose of the "being-nice-just-for-the-heck-of-it" stories. So, just for the heck of it, I'll share a story about a random act of kindness that might excite some fast food employees in the Treasure Valley, and you can see if you notice anything similar.
I read about a guy in Texas this week that was a regular customer at a McDonald's there, and one day he walked around to every employee and handed out one hundred dollar bills to each person who worked there - the fry cook, the cashier, the drive-thru girl, everyone. Nice bonus! He didn't want to be named, but just wanted to brighten all of their days anonymously, which he accomplished. And he might have inspired the rest of America to do things like that in the process.
A friend of mine was on the receiving end of a random act of kindness recently too. He was at a pancake house eating breakfast on a Saturday morning with his daughters, and someone impressed with the dad-daughter bond paid his bill, and told him to pay it forward. So he went to a different breakfast restaurant and paid someone's else's bill, and as far as we know that act of paying it forward could be still making the rounds.
What stories do you have about generous our neighbors are in the Treasure Valley? We might see more of this over the next few weeks with the holiday season. If you see some love, share it with us!
