Disaster Emergency Declaration Because of Mosquitoes in Idaho
Have mosquito bites right now? It's just the beginning. The amount of mosquitoes in Idaho has quadrupled adding millions more by the day. This is literally a disaster due to the fact that they could carry the West Nile virus.
Mosquitoes can breed in a tablespoon of water. We've got ourselves more than a tablespoon of water in the Boise River. Think of just how many are finding this to be the mother land. 3.9 square miles worth of them. That's how many.
It's not traditional but we've gone ahead and done it... Ada County has added its Mosquito Abatement District to the Local Disaster Emergency Declaration. Not only are these tiny little blood-suckers a pain in the butt, they could also be carrying the West Nile virus. The local disaster declaration is to combat the multiplication of mosquitoes and keep them from our bodies.
I freaking hate mosquitoes. Here is the trap map so you can follow what areas are being cleared as well as learn what's near you and if West Nile has been found at or around your house or favorite camping spot.
