Idaho Falling Behind Neighbor States on Minimum Wage
They say keeping up with the Jones' can steal your happiness and satisfaction quickly, but sometimes, comparing to your neighbors helps you know if you're doing alright.
As far as minimum wage goes, Idaho is falling behind our neighbors again. The Idaho Business Review is reporting that four of our six neighboring states will be raising their minimum wage in each of the next three years. So far, ours is expected to stay at $7.25 an hour (which is the federal minimum).
Montana's rate will go to $8.75, Nevada's to $8.96, Oregon's $11.25, and Washington's $13.50 by 2020. Washington and Utah, like Idaho, will be remaining at the federal minimum.
