Mark your calendars! IHOP's annual FREE Pancake Day is back!

Fat Tuesday goes by several different names.  Some call it Mardi Gras or Shrove Tuesday.  In some parts of the UK, it does by "Pancake Day" where people celebrate with Pancake races where contestants run from town to town while flipping pancakes in a frying pan.

Here in the United States? We're celebrating Pancake Day a week later on Tuesday, March 12.  To celebrate "National Pancake Day" Treasure Valley IHOP locations are "Flipping it Forward for Kids" by offering a FREE short short stack of their famous buttermilk pancakes.  In return for the pancakes, they ask you to leave behind a donation to help children battling life threatening illnesses.  They'll divide up the proceeds between Children's Miracle Network Hospitals, Shriners Hospitals for Children and the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

This year, they invited kids being treated at Children's Miracle Network Hospitals to stretch their imaginations and come up with their dream pancake recipe.  Six year-old Brody, who was born with an abdominal wall defect causing many of his organs to be outside his stomach, emerged as the top chef! In celebration of National Pancake Day, IHOP is adding his OREO Oh My Goodness pancakes to their menu through April 14.  When you order these yummy pancakes baked with Oreo pieces in the batter and scattered on top, IHOP will donate $1 from each plate sold to their Pancake Day charities!
