I had no idea that this was illegal to do outdoors on 8th Street in Downtown Boise!

According to Channel 2, Boise Police spent Friday evening reminding people in Downtown Boise to enjoy night life responsibly after an uptick in disorderly conduct and public intoxication complaints.  They also gave taxi drivers a refresher course on which designated lanes they could use for pickup and reminded Uber drivers that they may not use those lanes.  Ubers are not considered taxis in the City of Boise.

But the biggest surprise to people in Downtown Boise on Friday night?  A friendly reminder that it's illegal to smoke on 8th Street. That means if you're hanging out at Piehole, Fatty's, Red Feather, Prost! or anywhere else on 8th Street and want a cigarette, you might want to walk a block away.  There's a city ordinance that bans smoking from 8th Street Downtown and you can actually by cited for smoking outside.
