Folks who live off of Highway 21 woke up to quite the surprise on Thursday morning. Three different fires broke in and around Lucky Peak State Park.

Michelle, one go the gals that works at my chiropractor's office, is one of those people who lives in the area and her family had left the windows in the house open before going to bed.  They weren't expecting to be woken up in the middle of the night by the smell of smoke wafting through the house.

According to the Idaho Statesman, fire crews responded to the first fire at MM13 at Highland Valley Road and Highway 21 around 11:40 p.m. on Wednesday. Reports of another fire near Spring Shores Marina came in next, followed by the largest fire, now called the Lucky Fire, near Spring Shores Road and Arrowrock Road at 1 a.m. Thursday. Channel 6 reports that it knocked out power at Spring Shores Marina.  As of noon, it had burned at least 104 acres.

At this time, the cause of the fire has not been determined but Boise National Forest Fire Chief, Bob Shindelar told both the newspaper and television station that all three fires appear to be suspicious there were no lightning strikes in the area.
