aha? Oh No! Another Major Setback For The Boise Airport
This summer has been one step forward, and one step back for the Boise Airport. We've seen exciting flights added, like Las Vegas to Boise, and some of our favorite services taken away, like the daily service from Boise to Austin, Texas.
Now, we're losing something we never even had. aha! Airlines was about to start direct flights from Boise to Reno, Nevada but that will no longer be happening. aha! Airlines has filed for bankruptcy and will be ceasing all flight operations.
Those direct flights from Boise to Reno were scheduled to begin on August 31, according to Boise Airport's Shawna Samuelson.
The aha! Airlines Facebook page says that customers who have purchased tickets through the airline can contact their credit card company to receive a refund for their purchased tickets for travel happening after August 22nd. They can also visit flyaha.com and follow the directions there for refund options.
According to reports, aha! Airlines is unable to help customers find other travel arrangements, so best figure out how to get that refund.
aha! Airlines is a budget-friendly airlines billed as "a leisure brand of ExpressJet Airlines." You may remember ExpressJet when it previously flew as a United Express carrier, but was shut down in 2020 when United Airlines moved to a different regional carrier. ExpressJet picked up commercial flying a year later in 2021. This Boise to Reno flight was first announced in late June.
It was less than a week ago since the Boise Airport announced it will be cancelling its daily service to Austin, Texas in October. However, in July they picked up daily services to Las Vegas.
It's been a good thing followed by a bad all summer for the airport. What's next? We'll just have to wait and see if it's something good, or something else leaving.
In the meantime, here are the daily flights the Boise Airport is currently offering, at least until October...
