Movie theaters in the Treasure Valley were allowed to re-open on May 30 when the state moved into Stage 3 of the Idaho Rebounds plan. Larger chains, like Cinema West, weren't ready to re-open until they had new releases. Those are on the way and so is the re-opening of Village Cinemas!

With the new safety protocols in place, they'll welcome movie goers beginning on Friday, August 21. There won't be many new releases available this weekend, so many of the theaters will be filled with throwback favorites like Empire Strikes Back, Black Panther, Back to the Future, Inside Out, Ghostbusters, IT and the more recent Trolls World Tour.

Tickets for those throwback movies are discounted! Adult tickets are $5, kids/senior tickets are $3 and you even have an option to buy an all-day marathon pass that lets you into as many of the classics as you'd like to see in a single day. That pass is just $7.50.

New releases will still be subject to regular pricing. The only new re-lease on opening weekend is Russell Crowe's Unhinged which has topped $3 million since theaters worldwide have started to slowly re-open.

Cinema West is committed to keeping Village Cinemas as safe as possible for guests, by requiring employees to wear masks, gloves and under go health screenings, increasing how often theaters and high-touch areas are sanitized, reducing capacity and hours of operation and offering hand sanitizer stations for customers. A new mobile app will be unveiled to cut down on the number of interactions with ticket takers and box officer clerks. They also encourage guests to wear a mask while they're not eating or drinking.

They asks that movie goers stay home if they are experiencing COVID-19 symptoms and will be happy to provide a full refund if you've missed your screening due to illness.
