On Thursday, November 5 the USA Today published one of it's most controversial articles of 2020 and people weren't happy about it!

Titled "The 20 Best Christmas Movies of All Time, Ranked," the newspaper attempted to put together a list of the best theatrical Christmas releases ever. That means only movies that came out in theaters which disqualifies everything from Netflix's popular The Christmas Chronicles to those romantic, but cheesy Hallmark movies.

As expected the list includes movies like Lethal Weapon, Gremlins and Die Hard. Every year people debate whether or not these three are actually Christmas movie. If we're saying yes simply because they took place during the Christmas season, then I'd like to make the case that Iron Man 3 was deprived of a place on its list...even if it was, without a doubt, the worst of the three Iron Man movies.

Those movies being on the list isn't what enraged readers. It was their number one pick that caused people to sound off. According to their list, the best Christmas movie of ALL TIME is the 1988 Bill Murray film Scrooged. Really?!

While I certainly didn't think MY favorite Christmas movie (The Year Without a Santa Claus. Gosh, do I love that Snowmiser song!) would make the list, I was floored that Scrooged beat out classics like It's a Wonderful Life and Miracle on 34th Street!

The list was wrong. And to prove it we asked YOU to rank the best Christmas movies of all time. After we tallied the votes on our Facebook page, here's the list that Boise came up with!

#5 Elf (2003)

#4 The Polar Express (2004)

#3 It's a Wonderful Life (1946)

#2 A Christmas Story (1983)

#1 National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation (1989)
