Spiral Slide at JUMP Finally Opens to Public
Jack's Urban Meeting Place, better known as JUMP, may have opened in 2016 but for three years there have been certain parts of the JUMP Park that have been closed to the public.
That all changes this Thursday! After over a year of giving test rides to community groups and local students, JUMP is opening its infamous five story, spiral slide to the general public on May 2. Weather permitting, the slide will be open on Thursday evenings from 6-8 p.m. May-October. Knowing that weeknights can be busy for families who are shuttling kids back and forth to rehearsals and baseball practices, they plan on adding Saturdays rides from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. beginning in June.
In addition to the spiral slide, JUMP also has an eight person team slide with a near vertical drop where you can race your friends, family members and co-workers to see who can get to the bottom first.
JUMP Park is also made up of the front lawn area, Celebration Circle, Pioneer Plaza, three-story tall net climbing structure known as "The Climber" and "The Mister" a colored-light fountain designed to keep visitors during Boise's hot summer months.
Construction continues on the final pieces of the park including "The Blue Top" which is a modern twist on the blacktop you remember playing basketball, pickleball and other court sports on when you were younger. Once complete, there will also be a natural grass amphitheater that can be used as a performance space or the perfect place to catch a movie under the stars.
