My Little Darth Vader Invades Boise Summer Camp Today

This was the scene as we left our house and headed to summer camp this morning.  My 7 year-old, dressed as Darth Vader on "costume day."  I love that he wanted to do it. 

I have realized it could change at any moment, that desire and freedom to live in the world of imagination and risk being made fun of or feeling the pressure to fit and leave those fun adventures in his mind behind.

I noticed the "older kids" who were there when we got to the drop off have already determined it's time to move past that dress up era.  I'm sure it wont be long until my kiddo determines it's time to leave it behind, but for now, I love the joy it brings him, the fantasy world he gets to travel in and out of, and the fact that he's not aware or concerned of what others might think about it.
