Teens Forced To Hike 500 Miles At Survival Camp In Utah
The popularity of documentaries is at an all-time high and you could argue that there is no bigger subgenre than true crime.
Recently, we were scrolling through Netflix when we came across a documentary released at the end of 2023 about a survival/wilderness camp for troubled teens.
Hell Camp
Imagine being a teenager and woken up randomly in the middle of the night by a group of men yelling at you with flashlights. You're forced out of your bed and taken to the middle of the Utah desert.
It sounds like something out of a mobster movie but this was the reality for troubled teens that were sent to Challenger Foundation in southern Utah.
The single-episode documentary is a must-watch, but just a heads up: it can be difficult to watch and listen to.
The idea behind the camp was to essentially scare troubled teens straight. These teens are described in the show as struggling with drugs, being defiant, and having other issues with their families and home life.
As a result, the parents of these teens fork over around $16,000 for their kids to attend the Challenger Foundation.

Netflix seems to enjoy digging into the Utah area. There's a great documentary about the paranormal and weird happenings at a ranch in Utah known as "Skinwalker Ranch."
It is renowned for being a paranormal hotspot that just isn't limited to skinwalkers and ghosts, but also UFOs and even Bigfoot.
