Whether they realize it or not, people nowadays love to be offended. We see it everywhere in entertainment, social media, and even in the workplace.

If you're one of those who enjoys experiencing selective outrage, wait until you learn how much California drivers are paying in taxes for their fuel.

Don't worry, Idaho isn't that bad

We all know that the prices of goods continue to rise and it's becoming increasingly difficult to pay for everyday items. Gas prices regularly become the topic of conversation almost every year and usually, it's when prices are up.

While we don't see it at the pump, there is an internal tax imposed on fuel.

To no one's surprise, California has the highest tax on fuel in the entire country. Some believe it's designed that way to push drivers to go electric. Whether or not that's true, it doesn't change the fact that the government is making a pretty penny from the tax on gas in California.

If there's one positive takeaway about the fuel tax in Idaho, it's that it's nowhere near as high. That being said, Idaho's gas tax isn't necessarily the lowest in the country either.

When it comes to the outlook on gas prices for 2024, GasBuddy predicts that gas prices could rise to $4 per gallon this summer. Drivers on the West Coast, however, should brace themselves as they face the possibility of paying over $6 a gallon.

GasBuddy predicts that we could see the highest gas prices around Memorial Day weekend later this year.

How much of that is taxes that are paid to the government? Let's take a look...
