As families enjoyed the "Great Pumpkin" drop on Saturday afternoon, many didn't realize it would be the last time they'd experience the Farmstead as they knew it.

In July, we shared the news with you that the 51.6 acre property that The Farmstead Festival called home has been sold to Idaho Central Credit Union.  The credit union hoped to use the land as a new regional mortgage and call center and the project is moving forward.

According to our friend Don at Boise Dev, ICCU only plans to use 12 acres of the property.  A group name Ball Ventures Ahlquist, spearheaded by former republican candidate for governor Tommy Ahlquist, bought the remaining property.  In addition to the ICCU building, Ahlquist hopes to include a hotel, retail space, housing and medical offices.

So what does that mean for the Farmstead? It will be back for 2019, but the beloved family attraction will need to relocate.  They've been preparing to do that for a while, but won't announce the new location until all of the odds and ends from this season are tied up and they're comfortable unveiling the new location.

If you want to be the first to know where the new location will be, do what I did! Follow The Farmstead on Facebook.  Under the "following" tab on their page, click "see first."  That ensures that any time that The Farmstead posts something, you'll see it at the top of your newsfeed.

Jim and Hillary, who've operated the Farmstead for years, have some of the kindest hearts and most creative minds in the Treasure Valley.  We're looking forward to what the next era of The Farmstead brings!
