Build-A-Bear’s ‘Baby Yoda’ Sells Out in Hours Amid Pandemic

For those of you who worried that The Child's release day would feel little bit like the great "Pay Your Age" Day Fiasco of 2018, you'll like Build-A-Bear Workshop's plan for this little guy.

Update 11:25 a.m.: We received the e-mail from Build-A-Bear that The Child was available at 9:11 a.m. By 11:21, the Build-A-Bear website showed that the online exclusive has already sold out. The original story follows below. 

Crowds won't be flocking to Boise Towne Square Mall to assemble their own version of The Mandalorian's breakout star. Due to the COVID-19, the officially licensed Build-A-Bear is being offered as an online exclusive that goes on sale today.

Right now, The Child is only offered in a bundle that also includes a sound chip for each paw and its own brown robe. One paw includes a 5-in-1 sound chip playing sounds you're familiar with the character making in the Disney+ series. The other paw's chip will play the television show's theme song. It does come pre-stuffed but you'll receive the Build-A-Bear's signature birth certificate and cub condo with your bundle.

The bundle retails for $59.75 and includes free SmartPost shipping. Due to interest in this little guys, each customer is limited to one The Child bundle.
